PICKLING & PASSIVATION

Chemically clean your equipment while also forming a resistant later of corrosion protection.

At GCIS we offer a spray application of pickling and passivation that not only thoroughly chemically cleans your equipment, but also forms a corrosion protection barrier as well.

The pickling portion softens the scale of acids prior to complete removal. Pickling also serves to remove heavy contaminates or oxides formed through heat treating and high temperature operations. The passivation portion of the process removes iron and other surface contaminates including the removal of material contamination from machining operations.

Some restrictions with the use of pickling and passivation include:

  • Stainless steel substrates with low levels of chromium an nickel

  • Welded or brazed parts
